BREW Monday Inspiration

Date : 2008-04-21

"You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You."

                                                              Isaiah 26:3

Depending on what we choose to think, our minds can make or break us. Some years ago, choosing to focus on the text above lifted me out of stressful anxiety. Since we have this magnificent power of mental focus, why don't we use it more? Since we are going to think about something, why not think spiritually creative and liberating thoughts as often as possible?

This week, practice using your God-given gift of mental focus more. Do this by (1) Regularly monitoring your thoughts and (2) Intentionally thinking spiritually energizing thoughts as often as you can. Here are three thoughts I'll be affirming frequently this week:

"Because God is in me, I have goodness and greatness in me."

"I am not afraid to think big; small-mindedness goes against my nature as a child of God."

"Because I can see the best in myself, I can see the best in others."

Feel free to use these power-thoughts, modified versions of them; or, create some power-thoughts of your own. Please send me some of the power-thoughts you'll be using this week. My email address is Pass the word on to others, especially family members or friends going through a tough time right now.

Yours in Spiritual Mindfulness,
